Currently, Juminda village has about 40 households; dozen of them are inhabited perennially. The village is a home for circa 35 people.

The village chief was elected in 1990 and, after 19 years, he is still in office. It should be mentioned that the local people of Juminda were among the first ones in Estonia to choose their representative.
Juminda has participated in a contest called “The most beautiful village in Harjumaa” three times and each time the village has achieved an award-winning place. In 2008, Juminda won this competition. In 2009, Juminda was already a candidate of being the most beautiful village in Estonia.
